Being in New Orleans was a first for many, and a wonderful experience, bringing together company representatives in a convivial environment both at the event and of course, outside the event.
Working behind the scenes
With the Seminar (organised by industry experts Currency Research), spanning the vacuous space that is the Westin Hotel, New Orleans, we were delighted to take a large area within a foyer preceding the main Presentation area.
This provided ample room to demonstrate our low carbon, smaller footprint desktop machines, which although compact, allowed us to highlight the modularity of our machines, building in the shredder module, in addition to the strapper module onto the FDM and DMM core bases of the V Series. Adjacent to this, we were able to display our new 21 pocket X Range machine, again modular but with tremendous operating capacity, making it an ideal choice for organisations with cost effectiveness as a top priority.
Day 1 at the event
The first day was dedicated to Latin America, with all presentations presented in Spanish and for ‘global reach, local support’ CPS, this provided a fantastic opportunity for our CPS Mexico office, where our Spanish speakers Satish Puri and Abraham Ortego were able to take the helm.
Exciting developments
Tuesday’s sessions combined 5-minute speed sessions with more regular presentations (for sponsors and special guests), the advantage being that a longer presentation could follow the 5-minute teaser, in a dedicated meeting room. Here, Barrie Foley presented ‘Sustainable Cash Processing and Data Working Together’. This combination is proving to be a unique selling proposition for CPS and it certainly generated interest.
Currency Research are experienced enough to put on an event which seeks to channel visitor interest, so while visitor numbers were not as high this year, the quality of visitor was good. We were delighted that we were able to get in front of both new and existing customers alike, with the networking arrangements accommodating this perfectly.
Demonstrating our machines
We went to considerable effort to transport our machines to this location (being ‘compact and modular’ made it possible), so that we could demonstrate a very real product to our valued customers, and overall, it was the right decision. If any organisation felt we had left the market during our transformation period, then they’d be absolutely sure now that we’re very much in business.
Thank you to everyone who visited our ‘area’, it was a pleasure to see you all.
